Optical Consultant

About the role

At AEG, you'll work alongside Optometrists to support all aspects of patient care and education, ensuring exceptional care. Your responsibilities include:

• Perform preliminary evaluations of patients prior to exam
• Verbal interview with patients to determine medical issues and reasons for their visit
• Schedule referral appointments with Ophthalmologists, Diagnostic follow-up visits, and other specialty referrals
• Complete paperwork and maintain patient records in compliance with company policies
• Respond to patient inquiries regarding medication, treatment, and problems
• Perform diagnostic testing using specialty equipment
• Document medical findings and communicate between Optometrist and patient in EHR
• Ensure maximum schedule utilization through pre-appointment confirmation, daily appointment confirmation, and rescheduling
• Perform contact lens insertion and removal classes, manage trial inventory, and handle contact lens orders
• Perform end-of-day responsibilities including opti-schedule wrap-up and end-of-day checklist
• Clean and organize practice areas
• Perform other duties as requested

Requirements

• High School or GED qualification
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• PC skills including MC Office, Windows, and Word Processing
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
