Job no: 541091 Work type: Temp Full-Time Location: Main Campus (Gainesville, FL) Categories: Health Care Administration/Support Department:29170000 - MD-ORTHOPAEDICS - REHAB Classification Title OPS Research Assistant Job Description The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Florida is seeking an OPS Research Assistant to support ongoing clinical research initiatives. This position will work primarily with UF Health Orthopaedics Surgery and Sports Medicine in both clinic and hospital settings. The OPS Research Assistant will collaborate closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) and Clinical Research Coordinator to support all aspects of human subjects research, including participant recruitment, data collection, data management, and study protocol implementation. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a hospital-based research environment and interacting directly with human subjects. While prior orthopaedic knowledge is not required, it is strongly preferred. This OPS position is scheduled Monday-Friday, primarily during standard business hours, with some flexibility required based on study needs. Duties Include Assist the Principal Investigator and Clinical Research Coordinator with study operationsRecruit, screen, and enroll research participants in both clinic and hospital settingsConduct data collection and ensure accurate documentation according to study protocolsContact patients by phone to support completion of study questionnaires and formsEnter and manage study data using REDCap and other research databasesCoordinate and interact with external registry data as requiredMaintain compliance with human subjects research standards and institutional protocols Expected Salary Expected beginning salary is $16/hour; commensurate with education and experience. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant scientific discipline or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained Preferred Orthopaedic knowledge is not required but highly preferred.
