Specific Responsibilities

• Provides basic nursing services to students under the supervision of the Community Health Nursing Supervisor.
• Administers first aid, daily and emergency medications to students and staff as ordered by a physician.
• Performs intermittent clean catheterization, gastrostomy tube feeding, and monitors blood glucose.
• Organizes and assists with state-mandated health screenings such as hearing/vision, scoliosis, and BMI.
• Maintains a clean health unit and performs periodic inventory of medical supplies.
• Maintains accurate and timely records of all work performed.
• Assists the health screening team with scheduling and implementing health screenings for school district students.
• Collects and inputs screening data into HMS for upload by the School Health Program.
• Sorts and prepares mailings to parents/guardians of screened students, including notification letters.
• Attends School Health in-services and completes required training.
• Submits timesheets and mileage reports in a timely manner.
• Completes the Daily Report in a timely fashion.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license.
• Current, valid Driver’s license.
• Experience working in a pediatric medical setting preferred.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
