OPS Fiscal Assistant I

Minimum requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of general accounts transaction experience. Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

About the role

This position is the backbone of operations, processing accounts payable for assigned departments. The incumbent will work within a team to ensure accurate and compliant financial transactions, including purchase credit cards (pcards), requisitions, purchase orders, invoices, reimbursements, travel requests, travel expense reports, deposits, and cash advances.

Responsibilities

• Communicate professionally with faculty, staff, students, and vendors via written, verbal, virtual, and in-person channels.
• Navigate ticketing systems, email, and other designated communication platforms.
• Process, review, analyze, and accurately enter financial transactions within selected software, adapting to new procedures as systems evolve.
• Verify allowable funds, upload documentation, and ensure compliance with UF financial systems and policies.
• Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training.
• Contribute to team efforts, including special projects or other duties as assigned.
• Travel may be required.

Qualifications

Required

• Critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Adobe, and Teams programs.
• Accurate data entry skills.

• Excellent customer service, time management, record-keeping, and organizational abilities.
• Adaptability to new and updated software.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

Pay

$15 - $18 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
