About the role
Ensures the proper functioning of all Campus Recreation spaces while providing a welcoming and professional attitude to the community. Organization, timeliness, and motivation to improve Campus Recreation programs are key traits for this position. Lifeguarding responsibilities will be assigned once required certification is attained.
After hiring, the Campus Recreation Lifeguard will join a Project Focus Team, which may include Event, Leadership, Maintenance, Marketing, or Safety.
Responsibilities
- Open and close Campus Recreation spaces following procedural processes
- Assist in maintaining a well-functioning program, including:
- Logging in students, staff, and faculty
- Keeping inventory of materials and signing out equipment to NCF affiliates
- Organizing equipment, performing cleaning tasks, and managing spaces
- Helping with projects assigned by supervisor
- Give tours of spaces and equipment
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Be knowledgeable about equipment in assigned Campus Recreation spaces
- Work on Focus Team projects
- Stay up to date about events and programming
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Ability to lift 45 lbs
- Must obtain lifeguard, CPR, and first aid certification within 4 months of starting date
- Required swim test
- Ability to work with minor supervision and direction
- Problem-solving skills to improve Campus Recreation programs
- Knowledgeable about fitness, health, equipment use, safety, watersports, boating, aquatics, or related activities
- Familiarity with Google Workspace/Apps
- Must attend all mandatory training and events
Skills
Strong knowledge of Zoom, Google Meets, YouTube, and streaming is a plus.
