Ophthalmology Physician (Comprehensive/Cataract)
About the role
Join an established group of 5 Ophthalmologists and 3 Optometrists. The current need is for a general ophthalmologist who can provide comprehensive eye care. The group includes pediatric, retina, and glaucoma specialists. Support staff consists of well-trained ophthalmic technicians, LPNs, and RNs. On-call duty is every 5th weekend from Cooperstown and is rarely busy. Outreach clinics are limited to one location each and are attended by all ophthalmologists. Referral patterns to tertiary care ophthalmologists are well established.
Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region. Become part of a progressive academic health system and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Visa sponsorship is available for J-1 and H-1B candidates.
Requirements
- MD, DO, or MBBS degree
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
- Completion of an accredited USA Ophthalmology Residency
- New York medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
- BLS Certification

- Salary Range: $433,000 - $525,000 plus performance-based compensation with no earnings cap
