Responsibilities
- Perform advanced surgical procedures for retinal diseases including retinal detachment, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and vitreoretinal disorders.
- Conduct comprehensive retinal examinations and diagnostic testing to develop individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with optometrists, general ophthalmologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in retinal surgery and participate in continuing medical education.
- Educate patients and their families about diagnosis, treatment options, and post-operative care.
- Participate in clinical research and contribute to the advancement of retinal surgical techniques (optional).
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology.
- Fellowship training in Vitreoretinal Surgery or Surgical Retina.
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Texas.
Preferred
- Proven experience performing complex retinal surgeries.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient-centered care.
Board Certified or Board Eligible Medical Doctor with or without US residency with current US work visa.
