About the role
A Comprehensive Ophthalmologist is responsible for diagnosing and treating patients with glaucoma, performing comprehensive eye exams, developing treatment plans, and monitoring patients' progress.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat patients with glaucoma
- Perform comprehensive eye exams including measuring eye pressure, examining the optic nerve, and testing visual fields
- Develop and implement treatment plans which may include medication, laser therapy, or surgery
- Maintain ongoing communication and collaboration with other eye care professionals
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Completion of an ophthalmology residency program
- Fellowship training in glaucoma
- Board certification in ophthalmology and glaucoma
- Valid medical license in the state of California
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
