About the Role
A Comprehensive Ophthalmologist specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with glaucoma, a condition that damages the optic nerve and can lead to blindness if left untreated. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive eye exams, measuring eye pressure, examining the optic nerve, and testing visual fields. The role involves developing treatment plans—such as medication, laser therapy, or surgery—and monitoring patient progress over time. Collaboration with other eye care professionals, including optometrists and ophthalmologists, is essential to provide optimal patient care.
Requirements
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
- Completion of an ophthalmology residency program
- Valid medical license in the state of California
- Board Certified or Board Eligible
- Current US work visa (with or without US residency)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
