About the role
Join Tanana Chiefs Conference (TCC) and make a difference serving Alaska Native and American Indian communities at the Chief Andrew Isaac Health Center and Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye exams and diagnose ocular conditions
- Deliver preventative, therapeutic, and surgical care
- Conduct procedures including: cataract and glaucoma surgeries, refractive and corneal procedures, vitreo-retinal and oculoplastic surgeries, laser treatments
- Provide post-operative care and patient education
- Collaborate with Optometry and multidisciplinary teams
- Lead outreach village field clinics and support community care initiatives
- Contribute to quality improvement, reporting, and clinical excellence
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited program
- Completion of Ophthalmology residency
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (ABO)
- Eligible for Alaska medical licensure
- Strong clinical, surgical, and decision-making skills
- Passion for culturally responsive, patient-centered care
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience (new grads welcome)
- Leadership interest (Section Lead opportunity available)
- Commitment to teamwork, compassion, and community service
