Ophthalmologist - Corneal, Refractive Surgery Specialist (M89443)

About the role

The Department of Ophthalmology at the Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center is seeking an Ophthalmologist specializing in corneal / refractive surgery. This position is responsible for direct patient care and supervision in three outpatient settings: the Main Campus, Richmond V.A. Medical Center, and suburban ASC locations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high clinical and ethical standards
• Adhere to compliance measures
• Establish and promote an atmosphere of unity through collaborative practice and effective communication between all staff disciplines
• Foster a high level of patient and staff satisfaction
• Residents and certified ophthalmic medical technicians assist with patient care and ancillary testing

Requirements

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Ophthalmology, with Corneal subspecialty training
• Eligibility for, or a current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Excellent diagnostic and surgical skills required
• Demonstrate expertise working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU

Qualifications

• Must have completed residency in ophthalmology
• Must have completed subspecialty training in corneal surgery
• Must have a strong commitment to patient care, education, and research
