About the role
VCA Veterinary Care Animal Hospital & Referral Center is seeking an Ophthalmologist to join their team in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The hospital offers both specialty and primary care services, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced medical care to patients with eye conditions
- Collaborate with a cohesive team of veterinarians and support staff
- Prioritize patient care and associate well-being and retention
- Teach and mentor new veterinarians through a rotating internship program
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA accredited school
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in New Mexico
- Experience in ophthalmic medicine and surgery
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of ophthalmic diseases and treatments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passionate about teaching and mentoring

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $200,000 - $300,000.
