Ophthalmic Technician I

Under supervision, the Ophthalmic Assistant works with Ophthalmologists to provide patient care in a clean, well-lit office setting.

Responsibilities

• Preparing patients for exams and procedures
• Performing ophthalmic exams and tests
• Administering medications and treatments
• Assisting with ophthalmic procedures
• Educating patients about eye care and treatments
• Maintaining patient records
• Monitoring patients during and after procedures
• Maintaining and calibrating ophthalmic equipment

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED (required)
• 0 years of experience required

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience (preferred)
• Ophthalmic competencies (preferred):
  • Fundus photography
  • Ocular Coherence Tomography (OCT)
  • Automated and Manual Biometry
  • Corneal Topography and Tomography
  • Automated Visual Field testing
  • Specular Microscopy
  • Fluorescein and ICG angiography
  • Ophthalmic Ultrasound/UBM testing

Pay

$21.96 - $32.01 per hour

Schedule

• Primary Shift: Day
• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

This position is listed as an Ophthalmic Technician I, but based on the candidate’s qualifications, they may be hired as an Ophthalmic Technician I, II, or III.
