About the Role
This position is responsible for conducting patient interviews to obtain medical history and assisting with examinations. The role supports the Physician by administering patient care as directed and assisting with office procedures, including patient preparation. Additional duties include performing special testing and patient education.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments through interviews and history-taking
- Assist with patient examinations and office procedures
- Administer patient care as directed by the Physician
- Perform special testing, including:
- Lensometry
- Auto refraction
- Keratometry
- Screening and threshold visual field testing with automated perimeter
- A-scan biometry for intraocular lens calculations
- Provide patient education on the care and handling of soft and hard contact lenses
- Assist the Physician in fitting contact lenses
- Inspect equipment to ensure proper working order
- Manage RX authorization processes
- Support patient satisfaction initiatives
- Maintain equipment and room effectiveness
- Handle chart documentation accurately
- Assist with physician scheduling and patient triage
- Optimize patient flow processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
