About the role
Ophthalmology Consultants is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support our team in Des Peres, MO and Sullivan, MO. Travel to other locations within the metro St Louis area is required.
Responsibilities
- Facilitate patient flow
- Absorb and relay patient information
- Assist the doctor in preliminary testing
- Communicate with patients, doctors, and managers
- Answer inquiries through phone, email, and in-person
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- Favorable result on Background Check
- Basic computer skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Excitement to learn and grow
Qualifications
- Current Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification preferred
- One year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current certification in dilation, refraction, pressures, and performing a variety of diagnostic tests including visual fields, OCT, GDX, IOL master, auto refractor and topography
- Demonstrated working knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms, and ocular medications
- Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being performed by the Physician
- Prepare patients for treatments and minor procedures; measure and record vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rate) as required
- Open and close exam rooms as needed
- Keep examination, treatment, laser and any other assigned rooms cleaned and stocked with supplies, and keep drug count up to date
- Perform general office duties and cleaning to be assigned by manager

Competitive base pay based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Full Time - Our offices are open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. You may need to work a little earlier/later as needed.
