About the role

The Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the necessary care and treatment by providing essential data to doctors. This position involves a variety of administrative and clinical tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for eye examinations by explaining preliminary testing procedures.
  • Perform all preliminary and doctor-requested tests on patients.
  • Aid optometrists and ophthalmologists during patient procedures.
  • Coordinate patient scheduling and manage patient flow within the office.
  • Ensure exam rooms are prepared by cleaning instruments and managing supplies.
  • Provide a welcoming and organized environment for both patients and staff.
  • Assume additional responsibilities as directed by the office manager or team lead, and doctors.

Physical Demands

Physical Activity: Standing for extended periods, stooping, grasping, lifting, talking, hearing. Physical Requirements: Light work. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular basis from floor to waist, 5 lbs. from waist to shoulder, and 5 lbs. from shoulder to overhead. Visual Acuity: Must have sufficient visual acuity to accurately perform assigned tasks.
