Ophthalmic Medical Assistant/ Scribe
About the role
Support a high-volume Ophthalmic practice that focuses on providing quality and compassionate care to patients in need of complete eye care services. This is an excellent opportunity for Medical Assistants and other medical professionals looking to establish a fulfilling career in a growing field with exceptional advancement opportunities. We provide paid training, so no prior experience is required.
Responsibilities
- Obtaining and documenting patient history
- Determining visual acuity
- Performing automated refraction
- Administering eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions to the eye as ordered by the physician
- Performing office duties and clinical tasks, including entering data into EMR
- Providing patient services
- Maintaining equipment and instruments
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited high school
- Customer service skills and excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A degree of independent decision-making
- Dependable transportation to travel to other offices as required
- Flexibility with traveling to various locations as needed
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to seek instruction in areas where you are not knowledgeable
- Ability to recognize inconsistencies
