About the role

Located in Manchester, KY, the Ophthalmic Assistant works in the Physician Based Clinics (MG100) providing direct patient care for preventive and specialty eye care. The role involves performing various ophthalmic tests and procedures under provider supervision, supporting providers to focus on patient care and office efficiency. This is a full‑time staff position (Grade 06) with a schedule of Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑5:00 pm, plus occasional additional hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform ophthalmic testing and procedures for ambulatory patient populations.
• Provide direct patient care in preventive and specialty eye care settings.
• Ensure optimal testing techniques under provider supervision.
• Assist providers to maintain efficient office operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• No prior experience required.
• No specific license, registration, or certification required.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods and use a computer.

Pay

$18.18–$24.82 per hour.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am‑5:00 pm, with occasional additional hours as needed.
