About the role

The Ophthalmic Assistant performs various functions and procedures related to the delivery of care to ambulatory patient populations. The Ophthalmic Assistant is involved in direct patient care for both preventive and specialty eye care. The Ophthalmic Assistant will draw upon their training and experience to perform optimal testing techniques under the supervision of a provider. The Ophthalmic Assistant supports providers to ensure that they can focus on their patients and run their offices efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform various functions and procedures related to delivery of care to ambulatory patient populations.
• Provide direct patient care for preventive and specialty eye care.
• Perform optimal testing techniques under provider supervision.
• Support providers to allow them to focus on patients and run offices efficiently.

Requirements

• Required Education: High School (HS) – see equivalencies: UKY Equivalencies
• Required Related Experience: No experience required.
• Required License/Registration/Certification: None.
• Physical Requirements: Long periods of sitting/standing and computer use.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Pay

$18.18-24.82/hour

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
