Responsibilities

  • Receive and prepare patients for examination or treatment.
  • Perform initial patient examinations, ophthalmic testing procedures and routine screening tests.
  • Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
  • Document patient information in their medical record.
  • Perform clerical, stocking, maintenance and related duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year experience in an ophthalmic setting providing direct patient care (additional formal education or training in ophthalmology may substitute for some or all of the stated experience)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Qualifications

  • Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC.
  • Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
  • May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
  • Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.

Skills

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $16.47
Maximum hourly: $23.61
