About the role

As an Ophthalmic Assistant at HQ Eyes, you will play a key role in supporting ophthalmology providers in delivering high-quality eye care services. You will assist with patient intake, vision testing, clinical documentation, and in-office procedures while ensuring an efficient and positive patient experience.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and obtain visual history, measurements, and screening information.
  • Perform preliminary vision testing and ophthalmic diagnostic procedures.
  • Assist providers with examinations and in-office procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms and ophthalmic equipment.
  • Document patient information accurately within the electronic medical record.
  • Cook up and maintain inventory, assist with ordering clinical supplies.
  • Support patient flow and ensure an efficient clinic experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support ophthalmology operations.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • CPR certification is required (available upon hire).
  • Previous ophthalmic or clinical experience is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication and patient service skills are essential.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment is necessary.
  • Comfort with vision testing equipment and clinical procedures is required (training provided).
  • Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
  • A commitment to patient-centered care is expected.

Pay

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.92 - $25.38 per hour, with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through bonuses and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
