About the role
As an Ophthalmic Assistant at HQ Eyes, you will play a key role in supporting ophthalmology providers in delivering high-quality eye care services. You will assist with patient intake, vision testing, clinical documentation, and in-office procedures while ensuring an efficient and positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain visual history, measurements, and screening information.
- Perform preliminary vision testing and ophthalmic diagnostic procedures.
- Assist providers with examinations and in-office procedures.
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms and ophthalmic equipment.
- Document patient information accurately within the electronic medical record.
- Cook up and maintain inventory, assist with ordering clinical supplies.
- Support patient flow and ensure an efficient clinic experience.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support ophthalmology operations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- CPR certification is required (available upon hire).
- Previous ophthalmic or clinical experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and patient service skills are essential.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced specialty clinic environment is necessary.
- Comfort with vision testing equipment and clinical procedures is required (training provided).
- Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
- A commitment to patient-centered care is expected.

Pay
The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $16.92 - $25.38 per hour, with actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through bonuses and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
