Operator Trainee - Conway, NC

About the role

The Operator Trainee plays a crucial role in achieving operational excellence at Bakelite. You'll ensure high-quality standards, contribute to production goals, and enhance operational efficiency. You'll work closely with a dynamic team committed to open communication, trust, and transparency.

Responsibilities

• Loading and unloading raw materials and finished goods according to customer and chemical specifications.
• Training and developing skills to operate and monitor chemical reaction processes, producing polymer resins, industrial chemicals, and raw materials.
• Maintaining equipment and performing minor troubleshooting to optimize production and minimize downtime.
• Using computers to document data related to shipping, receiving, and manufacturing processes.
• Working in various weather and industrial environments, including at heights and in confined spaces.
• Adhering to all plant health, safety, and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintaining production goals while prioritizing safety, meeting physical and safety requirements, and working a rotating shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED.
• Experience operating a forklift.
• At least two (2) years of continuous employment in the last four (4) years preferred.
• One (1) year or more of experience in an industrial, warehouse, military, farming, construction, mechanical, or production environment.
• One (1) year or more of experience using a computer or tablet for information recording and data entry.
• One (1) year or more of experience in the chemical or refinery industries preferred.

Qualifications
