Operator Trainee

About the role

Aqua, an Essential Utilities company, is seeking a Wastewater Operator Trainee to join their Beaver Falls wastewater system. This position reports to the Plant Supervisor and works under the guidance of the Chief Operator.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain plant equipment and processes.
• Maintain accurate records and reports for regulatory compliance.
• Monitor effluent quality and make operational performance adjustments.
• Perform lab sampling, testing, and reporting.
• Ensure safety protocols and plant security are followed.

Requirements

• 1 year of wastewater operations experience preferred.
• Passing the DEP subclass 2 & 4 along with the general exam is a requirement of employment.
• Time will be allotted per union contract that dictates the window for achieving this requirement.
• Strong math, communication, and computer skills.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 75 lbs and pass required assessments.

Schedule

7:00 AM–3:30 PM (may include shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts per union agreement)
