About the role

The Operator is responsible for completing assigned production duties to ensure customer, team member, and vendor satisfaction. The Operator provides support to all areas in the production facility as assigned by supervisor/lead, including forklift operations and line operations. The role involves training and building competence in key production areas such as fillers, milk receiving, batching processing, and palletizing, as well as covering breaks and lunches as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve assigned goals in production, safety, quality, performance, and cost.
  • Notify others of mechanical malfunctions to increase productivity and assist with resolving concerns.
  • Comply with GMP’s, SOP’s, corporate and/or plant policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Work competently in forklift operations, line operations, and begin training in fillers, milk receiving, batching processing, and palletizing.
  • Gain competence on line circuits and learn proper hookups in the facility.
  • Cover breaks, lunches, and other staffing needs as assigned by supervisor/lead.
  • Comply with all legal requirements concerning dairy processing and safety; report concerns to supervisor/lead.
  • Work safely, report safety concerns promptly, and take corrective actions to ensure a safe environment.
  • Report food safety problems, support SQF, and maintain food safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure work areas are sanitary and strictly adhere to sanitation practices.
  • Communicate effectively between shifts and other departments.

Requirements

  • Ability to apply basic to complex mathematical concepts (e.g., adding, counting, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, weights, and measures).
  • Read, write, and communicate in English sufficient to perform job functions (special language skills preferred if there is a business need).
  • Knowledge of the company’s mission, purpose, goals, and your role in achieving them.
  • Ability to operate facility equipment as required in assigned area.
  • Satisfactorily complete all company training requirements.
  • Ability to interpret company documents, literature, and UPC/code information.
  • Report to work at scheduled times and communicate tardiness or absences in advance.
  • Arrive in a condition fit to work and maintain appropriate grooming and attire, including GMP dress code compliance.
  • Comply with performance criteria and standards of conduct as outlined in company policy.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and report safety concerns immediately.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move throughout all facility areas, including office, production, warehouse, and the building perimeter.
  • Able to wear all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) to perform job functions.
  • Stand and/or sit continuously for a full shift with meal breaks.
  • Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance; move objects exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations.
  • Visual acuity (corrected) to perform job functions.

Environmental Concerns

  • Normally protected from weather and temperature changes, but possible exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions.
  • May be exposed to ingredients used in food manufacturing, including allergens.
  • May be exposed to chemicals involved in food processing and sanitation.

Schedule

  • Requires morning, afternoon, and overnight availability any day of the week based on assigned shift.
  • Requests for specific days off require advance notification and supervisor approval.
  • Generally scheduled for 40 hours per week; additional hours may be required based on business needs.

The pay range for this position is $20 - $20 USD per hour, varying based on skills, experience, and location.
