Operator Packaging Machine - Nights

About the role

This position operates, monitors and adjusts the packaging equipment in a manner consistent with safety, food safety, quality, and production standards. Position is for C Shift - Nights.

Responsibilities

• Maintains Line Sanitation, Ink-jet coder, Bagger operation, Dyna-pack operation, Settlers and Case sealers
• Performs routine metal detector checks to ensure proper function of metal detectors
• Maintains and adjusts vibrators to achieve optimal bagger performance
• Orders packaging materials
• Records packaging machinery efficiencies, downtime, and fills out reports accurately and correctly
• Completes CIL’s and centerlines
• Participates in AMD Drumbeats
• Reworks product when necessary
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Lock-out/Tag-out, Forklift, and Sanitation certification are required
• Effectively communicates in English verbally and in writing
• Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English, both written and oral
• Experience driving forklift in warehouse or manufacturing establishment preferred
• Basic math functions required
• Basic computer operation knowledge, data entry skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs required

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
• Exposure to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature
• Exposure to manufacturing environments for up to 8 hours per work day to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, slippery conditions, dirt, fumes, smoke, smells and allergies
• Manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance required for job actions and procedures
• Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties
• Requires ability to operate work related equipment
