Operator, Machine

Duties Description

• Involved in the day-to-day operation of two polyurethane foam lines.
• Set up machinery in preparation of production runs.
• Start up and shut down the machine properly.
• Maintain monitoring of production variables and ensure they fall within an acceptable range.
• Monitor foam for any defects and react accordingly.
• Perform start-up and shut down procedures required inside the foam line tunnel.
• Measure and record foam dimensions on cut-off sheet.
• Generate accurate labels for all buns.
• Operate a forklift to move scrap foam safely within the plant.
• Maintain TDI gas monitor at head of round block and flat block lines.
• Cross training on other equipment will be required in this position.

Requirements

• Able to read, write and follow detailed work instructions, read tape measure, basic language & mathematical skills, reasoning ability to include the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw conclusions, enter data into computer.
• Must be safety & quality focused with an acceptable work history.
• Machine operation experience necessary.
• Experience in a chemical related manufacturing environment preferred.
