Operator, Laminate Flooring

About the role

The primary role involves operating and maintaining flooring manufacturing equipment and associated machinery. Duties include performing routine maintenance, cleaning, and understanding and manipulating computer software related to the operation of the flooring line.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain flooring manufacturing equipment and associated machinery safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning on all machinery and workspaces in the assigned area.
• Understand and manipulate computer software related to the operation of the flooring line and associated equipment.
• Identify and address conditions that may lead to substandard quality or downtime, initiating corrective actions as necessary.
• Assist maintenance personnel in troubleshooting, repairing, or performing preventive maintenance on equipment to support continuous operations on the production line.

Requirements

• Ability to read and comprehend work instructions of a technical nature.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate heavy machinery.
• Ability to work with electric, pneumatic, or hand tools.
• Ability to be trained and become certified to operate a forklift.
• Ability to comprehend and manipulate metric measurements.
• Ability to work effectively with other members of the facility team.
• Ability to work without constant supervision.
• Ability to creatively problem-solve, individually or as part of a group.
• Ability to work in extreme heat and cold.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders at a safe but rapid pace.
