Operator (I, II, III)
Position Overview
The City of Solon Water Reclamation Department is accepting applications for a Wastewater Operator (I, II, III).
Responsibilities
- Performing a wide variety of duties to monitor the physical, chemical and microbiological characteristics of wastewater.
- Performing a variety of tasks in controlling the daily operations of the wastewater treatment facility.
- Operating large trucks, forklifts, pumps, conveyors, blowers, belt filter presses and other equipment utilized in the treatment of wastewater.
- Maintaining buildings and grounds.
Qualifications
- Possess a high school degree or a GED equivalency certificate.
- At least one (1) year of related work experience.
- The ability to complete Confined Space Entry training and duties within 6 months of hire.
- May be required to participate in vocational or apprenticeship training in related skilled trades.
Comments
This position is Civil Service and a member of the Teamsters Local 436 bargaining unit. The successful applicant will be slotted on Solon’s wage scale based on their certifications and qualifications in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement with a range of $34.97 - $38.47/hour.
