Operator I - Composites 2nd Shift

About the role

The Gund Company, a leader in engineered material solutions, is seeking a CNC Machine Operator I to join our team. This role is part of the Composites department and involves manufacturing thermoset composite materials using presses, forming, extrusion, pultrusion, and/or shape machines.

Responsibilities

• Manufacture molded glass polyester sheets.
• Select and install machine components, such as dies, spacers, shims, and stops according to specifications.
• Trim/file and de-flash molded sheet edges and perform in-process measuring and material inspections.
• Set up tooling, load programs, and set machine parameters to ensure optimal equipment performance.
• Clean dies and molds, using scrapers, brushes, scotch pads, or air hoses.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or GED with prior hands-on, vocational, or job-related course work/training, or any similar combination of education and experience.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing industry with mixing, batching, or compounding equipment is preferred.
