About the role
The OPERATOR I position is available at Neshaminy/Bristol Treatment Plants. The role requires shift work and the successful candidate must obtain and maintain a Waterworks Operators Class A license with all associated modules.
Responsibilities
- Labor-intensive work including lifting up to 75 pounds.
- Perform mechanical, treatment, and mathematical tasks as required.
- Make mathematical calculations for chemical doses based on flow rates.
- Maintain continuous plant operations by being available for overtime.
- Must have a valid US driver’s license and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Hazardous Material endorsement.
- Pass random drug and alcohol testing, reasonable suspicion testing, post-accident testing, and bi-annual medical certification.
Requirements
- Associate degree or 2 years of trade school/trade experience in waterworks field or similar field.
- Experience in waterworks field or similar field with mechanical, treatment, and mathematical skills.
- Valid US driver’s license.
- Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Hazardous Material endorsement.
- Must pass the required knowledge testing and receive the required learner’s permit within 60 days of job award.
- Must secure a CDL with necessary endorsements within 120 days of job award.
- Must pass the required medical certification.
Qualifications
- Must be willing to move to a permanent shift position as Plant openings occur.
- Must be able to meet and follow all Aqua safety requirements.
Skills
- Good mechanical skills.
- Ability to calculate chemical doses based on flow rates.
- Availability for overtime.

Pay
The hourly rate of pay is $38.91. New hires on or after December 15, 2022, will receive a $4.00 per hour wage reduction, which will be returned in one dollar ($1.00) increases over a four (4) year period.
