About the Role
This position is located in Plymouth, MN, within Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) division. As an Operator I, you’ll work under direct supervision, performing routine and repetitive assembly operations and processes in the production of medical devices.
Responsibilities
- Casting/Coating Functions:
- Examine medical devices and related assemblies after molding operations to locate bubbles, nicks, and/or excess epoxy.
- Use small drills, reamers, taps, and knives to access bubbles and remove excess epoxy.
- Patch and repair bubbles or voids using syringes and small tools; bake parts to cure epoxy patches.
- Mechanical Assembly Functions:
- Kit, assemble, bond, coat, and process medical devices and related parts using microscopes and applicable tools.
- Locate and correct problems by examining devices and components; visually inspect parts/assemblies.
- Repair and correct devices and related components using microscopes and applicable tools.
- Packaging Functions:
- Kit, assemble, and package devices and related accessories using applicable tools.
- Locate and correct problems using a microscope and applicable tools.
- Review all device documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- May set up and utilize special test equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum 0-6 months of experience working in a medical or other regulated production environment.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures; understand and follow verbal instructions.
- Understanding of and ability to utilize electronic data collection systems and computer software packages.
- Ability to prioritize work by determining the sequencing and timing of different jobs based on precedence and importance.
- Ability to handle and maneuver small components and parts.
- Ability to make critical decisions and judgments with minimal supervision.

Pay
The base pay for this position is $14.35 – $28.75 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
Schedule
Monday – Thursday, 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM, with potential overtime.
