About the role
This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor and is based out of our Hendersonville, North Carolina location. The Forklift Operator is responsible for loading and unloading finished goods, raw materials, and ingredients from trailers using a forklift, and utilizing our inventory control system (QAD/RF scanning) to capture all movement.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload finished goods, including checking in the driver, loading the truck using the Bill of Lading (BOL) and FIFO method, completing the load, printing the BOL, and signing out the driver.
- Tag and properly store finished products from production lines in a safe, efficient, and orderly fashion.
- Communicate all shortages to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Use RF scanners to capture all movements and QAD for tag edits.
- Ensure product rotation by shipping the oldest product first, using pick sheets to assist in rotation, and reporting any discrepancies.
- Maintain product quality through proper rotation, correct tagging, and preventing damage in the warehouse. Handle damaged products under the clean-as-you-go program.
- Adhere to all safety requirements, food safety, food quality, and regulatory requirements for the position.
- Notify management about actual or potential food safety issues.
- Adopt and maintain all SQF (Safe Quality Food) requirements for the position.
- Work with supervision to resolve food safety and food quality issues within scope of work.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 6 months of forklift experience in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
This position requires sufficient physical ability to work in a production setting.
- Frequent: Ability to talk and hear; stand, walk, climb stairs, stoop, bend, and/or crouch; push/pull; lift up to 50 pounds; use hands and fingers to operate machinery/equipment and all manual/electronic equipment. Exposure to wet and humid conditions and fluctuations in ambient temperature (seasonal).
- Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, reaching above and at shoulder height. Ability to wear a dust mask and perform Confined Entry using the LOTO program. Exposure to toxic and corrosive chemicals.
- Vision: Ability to use close and distance vision, as well as color and peripheral vision with or without correction. Must visually detect obstacles and potential dangers in a fast-paced production environment involving high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
- Hearing: Ability to hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Exposure to noise levels from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.
