Zehnder Rittling, a trusted name in hydronic and radiant heating since 1946, is seeking a detail-oriented, fast-paced individual for a Machine Operator position on the second shift. About the role
Responsible for set-up and operation of turret equipment to punch and prepare material for job orders consistent with customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Reviews job orders to determine customer specifications.
- Sets up turret, including turning on machine, water power, hydraulic, and resetting machine to zero.
- Modifies computer programs to meet job specifications on a regular basis.
- Sets up tooling specifications.
- Performs incoming inspection on sheared material prior to punching; documents non-conforming material via "blue sheet" and obtains clearance from Leadperson or Management before proceeding if issues are identified.
- Operates turret at an appropriate tempo to meet production quantities while maintaining quality standards.
- Performs first piece inspection on newly punched material to ensure equipment is properly set to produce required quality standards.
- Delivers finished product (punched) to next operation within cell.
- Orders tooling parts through communication with CAD as needed.
- Works as part of the team to identify and eliminate non-value added processes and waste.
- Implements and sustains 5S program.
- Performs autonomous maintenance on equipment.
- Works in a safe manner, utilizing all required personal protective equipment.
- Assists in all other areas of the cell and maintains flexibility to transfer to other cells when needed.
- All other duties as assigned by Leadperson or Manager.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of similar work experience desired.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to work with small hand tools.
- Must be dependable and have reliable transportation.
Schedule
- 4:00 pm – 2:30 am, Monday through Thursday (10-hour shifts, 40+ hours per week).
- Overtime required as needed: Friday 4:00 pm – 2:30 am (10 hours) and Saturday 11:30 am – 5:30 pm (6 hours).
Pay
$18.00 - $24.00 per hour.
