About the role

This position is responsible for operating the filler and support equipment to ensure product quality and safety, including CQP and CCP monitoring. The role may also involve operating the Blow Molder and reports to the Production Supervisor at our Seabrook, New Jersey location.

The starting hourly rate is $22.75/hr. 2nd shift receives a $0.35/hr differential, and 3rd shift receives a $0.45/hr differential. Medical insurance is offered through Local Union 152.

Responsibilities

  • Move juice from the balance tank to the filler, maintain accurate temperature control charts, and ensure Critical Control Points are met.
  • Complete CIP/Kosher/Organic Washes from the run tank through the pasteurizer and to the fillers.
  • Operate filler equipment efficiently to optimize production-line run time.
  • Monitor bottle flow from the depalletizing area, clear jams, and alert maintenance of mechanical malfunctions.
  • Retrieve and load bottle caps into the cap hopper.
  • Adjust filler speed to ensure proper workflow through the production line.
  • Perform minor equipment adjustments to maintain smooth operation.
  • Complete packaging changeovers on the filler, rinser, and depal by adjusting rails, swapping change parts, and adjusting timing.
  • Conduct product quality control tests, including sampling at the start of runs to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Retrieve product quality specifications from the Processing Guide provided by the Quality Assurance Department.
  • Perform quality tests, including weighing a sample of five bottles.
  • Assist with inventory verification for bottles, caps, and products; record waste and usage on inventory control logs.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform rinse-outs at the pasteurizer, filler, and support tanks.
  • Ensure correct washes by checking processing guides and QAD schedules; document wash processes on chart records.
  • Track formula yield and monitor pasteurizer/fill-tank temperature charts, product flow rates, and fill-tank levels.
  • Adjust temperatures and product flow to meet specifications; record variations on temperature charts.
  • Record all product changes at change-over time on pasteurizer and fill-tank temperature charts.
  • Conduct taste tests as needed (up to a couple of ounces per test).
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Six months of experience in a manufacturing environment operating production equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the food/beverage industry.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

This role requires physical ability to work in a production setting with the following demands:

  • Frequent: Talking, hearing, standing, walking, climbing stairs, stooping, bending, crouching, pushing/pulling, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating machinery/equipment. Exposure to wet/humid conditions and seasonal temperature fluctuations.
  • Occasional: Squatting, kneeling, reaching above/at shoulder height, wearing a dust mask, and performing confined entry using LOTO program. Exposure to toxic/corrosive chemicals.
  • Vision: Close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision (with or without correction). Ability to detect obstacles and dangers in a fast-paced environment with high-speed equipment and powered industrial lift equipment.
  • Hearing: Normal audio range (with or without correction). Exposure to noise from pumps, machinery, forklift traffic, bottle lines, and exhaust fans.

Pay

$22.75/hour. 2nd shift: +$0.35/hour differential. 3rd shift: +$0.45/hour differential.
