About the role

The Operator (D) performs foundational production support tasks while learning basic manufacturing processes and safety procedures. This entry-level role assists with general labor activities, material handling, and housekeeping, while developing the skills needed to operate equipment and advance within the production team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift inside and outside the plant to move drums and pallets of raw materials safely, including communicating verbally with employees on different floors.
  • Fill drums with finished materials and transport them from the filling location to the warehouse.
  • Read and understand written instructions for labeling and stenciling drums.
  • Respond to various alarms, including fire alarms, kettle high-temperature alarms, forklift horns, and thermal oxidizer alarms.
  • Wear a respirator when completing tasks involving dust or other hazards.
  • Maintain general and extensive housekeeping.
  • Receive training for operator trainee tasks.
  • Learn and demonstrate understanding of policies and procedures for hazardous waste accumulation, container labeling and marking, container storage, recycling, waste minimization, and emergency response roles.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 0–1 year of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, or general labor environments preferred.
  • Capable of learning duties in a chemical plant environment.
  • Capable of operating a forklift, filling drums with resin to exact weights, loading chemicals into reactors, and making small batches.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, drive a forklift, climb, and walk.
  • Punctuality and regular attendance are required.

Pay

Starting pay: $24.21 per hour.

Schedule

Monday – Thursday nights, 7:00 PM – 7:15 AM.
