Operator (Cincinnati, OH)

About the Role

Responsible for daily work at sites in and around Ohio, including making your own travel arrangements and ensuring an on-time start. You will operate equipment, primarily backhoes, and excavate all types of plumbing trenches. The role requires reading and understanding blueprints, effective communication with all personnel on the job-site (including sub-contractors), and representing TP Mechanical Contractors professionally.

Responsibilities

• Operate various equipment, primarily a backhoe, in a safe manner, ensuring compliance with all OSHA and TP Mechanical Contractors standards.
• Excavate all types of plumbing trenches.
• Conduct regular maintenance on equipment, such as greasing and checking fluids.
• Assist in installing equipment on jobs.
• Move equipment from job-to-job.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience operating a backhoe in field plumbing operations.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Knowledge of general plumbing and piping installation.
• Working knowledge of all hand and power tools.
• Ability to work within precise limits or standards of accuracy and productivity.
• Basic math skills.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent (trade school experience is a plus).
• Eyesight correctable to 20/50.
• Able to perform shift work.
• Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Able to operate heavy machinery.
• OSHA 10 Construction Industry certification.
