Responsibilities
- Fulfills general operator duties (per skill level) at the project site, including operating heavy and light equipment such as Backhoe, loader, rock truck, Blade, excavator, dozer, Digger Derrick, Crane, and other equipment as needed.
- Performs pre-inspection checks and monitors equipment during operation, reporting results daily.
- Maintains job site and materials in an organized and efficient order.
- Maintains all mobile and stationary equipment by performing preventive maintenance, including tightening, cleaning, greasing, and minor repairs.
- Notifies management of any malfunctions and cleans the interior cab area of equipment daily.
- Follows safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions, and uses materials and equipment properly.
- Calculates crane capacities and weights for rigging and hoisting tasks.
- Communicates effectively, listens, comprehends, and follows directions, and conveys barriers to work accurately.
- Builds relationships and manages time effectively to meet work goals and deadlines, ensuring accuracy in work and proper use of hand and power tools, machines, and equipment.
- Maintains heavy equipment and performs preventive maintenance on all types of heavy/light equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience working in a construction field, with experience levels ranging from 0-2 years with backhoe, loader, roller and rock truck, 1-3 years with blade, excavator and dozer, and 1-3 years with crane and trencher.
- Must be certified on site for all types of heavy/light equipment by demonstrating skill level to a Superintendent.

- Physical ability to perform heavy work, including lifting up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly.
- Exposure to outside weather conditions and construction site environments.
- Extensive travel to remote sites and office work in field conditions.
