About the role

Operators are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of plant equipment and performing site work based on accepted company procedures. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a commitment to upholding operational standards to achieve operational targets.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safe work habits to help create a zero-injury safety culture
  • Attend regular safety meetings and follow all safety guidelines as required
  • Maintain communication with utility
  • Monitor and record levels of fly ash in silos and place orders as needed
  • Pull samples of fly ash from loads and silos for testing and perform required tests
  • Load trucks, rail cars, or barges with fly ash directly from the silo
  • Unload trucks, rail cars, or other delivery systems to fill fly ash silos
  • Weigh trucks and rail cars and record the information in the relevant operating system or production sheet and create tickets for billing
  • Operate all loading equipment for loading trucks and/or rail cars including: water truck, dump truck, vacuum truck, or forklift on site when required
  • Operate production equipment including start-up and shut down
  • Assist in the disposal operation where required
  • Perform maintenance on grounds, equipment, and facilities as directed
  • Complete all paperwork and reports as required
  • Ensure regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility
  • Report any safety, quality, or equipment maintenance items to Supervisor
  • Assist with maintenance repairs and projects
  • Respond promptly to customer needs
  • Follow established policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness
  • Manage time effectively and meet productivity standards
  • Observe safety and security procedures, including using equipment and materials properly
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Work well with others, follow instructions from supervisors, and coordinate tasks with coworkers

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and training or certification in relevant skill or trade
  • At least 1 year of experience in a relevant field
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Strong verbal communication skills for conveying instructions, reporting issues, and collaborating with coworkers and supervisors
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • Capacity to deal with problems and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions
  • Consistently punctual and reliable
  • Ability and willingness to work rotating on-call shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Ability to adapt to changing job site conditions, equipment requirements, and project priorities

Pay

The hourly pay rate is $20-$23/hr.
