About the role

Premium Metals, Inc., a division of American Consolidated Industries, is one of the country’s largest providers of hot rolled, cold rolled, and galvanized steel products. Here at Premium Metals we receive steel coils, slit/blank/cut to length coils and ship to our customers. Responsibilities

• Embraces the 1 T.E.A.M. culture
• Wear all proper protective equipment as required in work and in accordance with Safety Policy and OSHA standards
• Maintain a safe and healthful work environment by practicing safe work habits, good housekeeping procedures and adhering to safety guidelines
• Verification and recording of product identification
• Reconcile coil identity for production and load coil
• Ensure material is loaded onto lines and fed into production equipment in accordance with all safety policies and quality procedures
• Responsible for making necessary adjustments to ensure material tracking/stacking
• Performing in process visual inspection
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, required
• Industry knowledge and experience, a plus

Qualifications

• Ability to use computers, read tape measures, micrometers and calipers
• Dependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needs
• Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed
• Able to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the company
• Able to read and comprehend simple work instructions, work orders, short correspondence and memos written in English
• Able to write simple correspondence in English
