Responsibilities
- Make required rounds to ensure proper equipment operation and perform visual and olfactory inspections.
- Ensure unit is operating at target rates and production is on-spec.
- Maintain equipment within desired ranges and handle maintenance items.
- Identify problem areas and communicate suggestions to supervisors, engineers, or associates.
- Complete a site Safety Orientation and follow all safety and environmental policies.
- Monitor production and equipment operations during actual production runs to ensure target rates and product specifications are met.
- Draw raw material, unit stream, finished product, and shipping samples as required.
- Complete rotating equipment checklists, lubricate as necessary, tighten valve packing, correct leaks, and blow down instrument transmitter legs as needed.
- Participate in shift hand-offs, operator communications meetings, and audits.
- Identify and troubleshoot process and mechanical issues, collaborate with console operators and maintenance teams to resolve issues safely.
- Maintain good housekeeping and clear equipment for maintenance.
- Assist in completing company required training programs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate Degree in Process Operating Technology preferred.
- 5 years relevant operations experience in a petrochemical or refinery setting.
- A Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
- Proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft Office programs.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associate Degree in Process Operating Technology preferred.
- 5 years relevant operations experience in a petrochemical or refinery setting.
- A Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
