Essential Responsibilities
- Primary operator for smaller equipment.
- Handle daily operation of lull, manlift, and skid steer.
- Responsible for equipment checklist, maintenance, and rigging.
- Complete pre-task inspection of equipment.
- Load and unload equipment from transport trailers.
- Operate various equipment around and near other equipment and employees without conflict.
- Use equipment to handle, transport, load, and place extremely heavy objects and materials.
- Perform various manual labor tasks as necessary for the performance of work.
- Grease and fuel equipment if necessary and keep records of equipment hours.
- Proactively identify safety risks and hazards on the job site.
- Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
- Follow project instructions from superintendent and/or foreman.
- Ensure regulated and proper headgear, gloves, safety glasses, and clothing are worn.
- Operate and carry out job duties in accordance with FHG’s Core Values and Code of Ethics.
Position Requirements
- A high school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) preferred.
- At least one year of construction experience.
- Experience operating light and heavy equipment preferred.
- Experience with 100% travel away from home preferred.
- General knowledge of construction and ability to read plans.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with all levels of management.
- Able to work independently or as an active member of a team.
- Able to work in a standing position for extended hours.
- Comfortable climbing tall ladders, working at heights, and working in confined spaces.
- Possess a valid state or federal ID.
- Able to pass a background check and obtain a TWIC card.
- NCCCO training for BT and RT crane (classroom and hands-on).
