Responsibilities
- Operate traveling or stationary overhead cranes to lift and move materials and equipment.
- Safely attach loads using hooks, slings, buckets, or other hoisting devices.
- Observe load hookups and assess load safety before and during operation.
- Control crane movements using pedals, levers, and buttons according to instructions or signals.
- Inspect cranes and hoisting mechanisms for defects or malfunctions.
- Clean, lubricate, fuel, and perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Report mechanical issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Comply with OSHA requirements and work safely while using required protective equipment.
