Operator; 3rd Shift Deco/Glaze

About the Role

AHF Products is seeking a 3rd Shift Operator for the Glaze Department in Crossville, TN, reporting to the Glaze Department Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Check weight and density on glaze and paste every two hours using a den cup and boat paddle.
• Check glue and powder weights, mix materials, refill, and match new runs.
• Operate and understand verticals, laser rollers, washing booths, air power pumps, powder machines, emergency cords, disc booth, and brush off.
• Clean heads in digital rooms, load digital files for setups, and purge digital manually.
• Monitor tile quality continuously and check samples for color, texture, and deco three times per shift.
• Track cars of finished tile throughout the shift.
• Perform line changeovers, including material, screens, rollers, and cleaning.
• Use setup sheets and complete 5S, TPMs, and necessary paperwork.
• Dig ditches to ensure drains are free of debris.
• Set tile height, install top and bottom guts, and change blades.
• Sign off on all samples run during the shift and assist with other lines as directed.
• Operate a forklift and use the Gemba board to communicate issues.
• Report issues to the next shift and recognize/correct production issues or notify appropriate personnel.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and other departments.
• Participate in Kaizen for continuous improvement.
• Follow safety guidelines, company standards, and use required PPE.
• Adhere to company policies and maintain housekeeping standards.
• Enter downtime codes on the computer and ensure tile sizes and bevels are correct.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.

• Must be available to work overtime and other shifts as necessary.
• Must pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test, physical, and criminal background check.

Physical Demands

• Frequent climbing, bending, standing, walking at a brisk pace for 8+ hours a day, squatting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Occasional lifting of up to 80 pounds, alone or with assistance, following safety policies.
• Frequent dexterity with hands for tool use.
• Frequent vision sufficient to see tools and equipment clearly.
• Frequent hearing with the use of ear protection.
