About the Role

The Operator I will operate machines such as filling equipment, cappers, labelers, sealers, and other related equipment to meet customer order-driven production schedules. This role involves operating, repairing, and overhauling mechanical equipment while supervising machine operations. Safety is a primary objective, and all tasks must adhere to established GMP, Safety, Regulatory, and Stratas Foods procedures and policies.

Responsibilities

• Follow GMP’s and safety guidelines, wear PPE, and adhere to all safety rules.
• Determine machine adjustments based on product specifications and material requirements.
• Set stops or guides to specified lengths as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects and/or machine malfunctions.
• Actively identify mechanical issues that could lead to machine breakdown or downtime, report them to supervisors, and work to reduce downtime.
• Properly record reasons for downtime in the CDC system.
• Stop and reset equipment when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report impairments to the Production Supervisor.
• Perform periodic product sample weights to ensure proper fill weight and conformity to customer standards.
• Replace and replenish containers of product to be filled and packaging supplies such as film, laminate, and mount rolls on spindles.
• Complete documentation required for product quality assurance.
• Perform changeovers and minor machine maintenance and adjustments; communicate effectively with maintenance personnel for more considerable maintenance requirements.
• Assist mechanics during preventative maintenance and machine service or repairs following proper Lockout/Tagout procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• Experience operating in a fast-paced, ready-to-eat food facility is a plus.
• Ability to be self-guided and motivated to operate independently.
• Strong multitasking skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Climb stairs, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Strong sensory abilities (hearing, seeing, speaking, smelling, and touching) to perform essential tasks.

Pay

$18.06 per hour.
