About the role
The Operator 2 is responsible for operating and maintaining machinery in the Press Weld Paint department. In this position, you will have gained working knowledge of all equipment and machinery within the Press Weld Paint department.
Responsibilities
- Learn and have working knowledge of all equipment and machinery within the Press Weld Paint department.
- Position parts and monitor operations on equipment while producing product at established production standards.
- Inspect panels or parts to verify specifications meet quality standards while maintaining established production standards.
- Notifies appropriate personnel of issues.
- Complete production reporting and quality paperwork accurately as required.
- Use banding equipment and hand-jacks to ensure proper movement or storage of product or material.
- Maintain good housekeeping and follow established safety procedures.
- Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions including Employee Handbook, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Manufacturing Operating Procedures (MOPs), Job Safety Analysis (JSAs), and Safety Manual.
- Maintain awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; report all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.
Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED; or equivalent experience.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing/production environment required.
- Familiarity with industrial saw equipment is preferred.
- Familiarity with running, troubleshooting and operating CNC machines.
- Ability to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Able to work in a team environment and interface with a diverse workforce.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs. repetitively unassisted for an 8-hour shift.
- Able to use various tools and measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, tapemeasure, dial indicator, and feeler gauges.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for an 8-hour shift.
- Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or feel machinery, equipment or parts and work near moving mechanical parts.
