Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operates within one or more area(s) in a continuous flow manufacturing process, executing prescribed, repetitive processes to meet production and quality standards.
- Identifies process disruptions/malfunctions and makes minor adjustments per standard operating procedures and protocols.
- Performs routine inspections and basic preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Process Areas: Coiling, Foam Encasement, Assembly, Gluing, Sewing, Borders, Quilting, Closing and Packing
- Follows all safety policies and procedures defined by the company safety program and OSHA regulations to eliminate work related injuries.
- Practices Lean principles and participates in Kaizen events and continuous improvement projects.
- Makes sure sufficient quantities of quality products are manufactured per specified standards.
- Sets up and operates automatic or semiautomatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation.
- Maintains process adherence using meters, gauges, valves, flow ratios, temperatures, pressures, and related controls and guidelines.
- Reports any malfunctions or abnormalities and makes minor adjustments and repairs to equipment.
- Assembles mechanical units, fabricated parts/components and/or electrical/electronic systems to make subassemblies, assemblies or complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures and miscellaneous equipment.
- Fits, aligns, calibrates and adjusts parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements; repairing units or products that have failed to meet requirements.
- Selects and measures raw materials and parts to specifications to prepare for production processing.
- Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, processing and/or packaging operations.

Experience/Education
- Entry-level with little to no experience.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be at least 18 years or older.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing operations environment preferred.
Job Factors/Work Environments
- Must stand and walk for a minimum of 8 hours per day or longer in overtime situations as required.
- Also must be able to lift heavy product or raw materials up to 120 pounds multiple times per hour during an 8-hour shift or longer in overtime situations to meet customer demand.
- Heavy loads must be team-lifted.
- A work pace that maintains integrity of make-to-order system is required.
- Safety-focused, fast-paced manufacturing plant engaged in Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement.
- Work environment includes a clean and safe work area and exposure to high noise decibels, hot raw materials, fire-retardant materials, and limited chemicals.
- Personal Protective Equipment is required to be worn for any hazards and is supplied by the company.
