Operator 1 - Filler (Bishop)

Mars Petcare is seeking an Operator 1 - Filler to join our pet food manufacturing team in Fort Smith, AR. This role focuses on producing precise, high-quality nutrition for cats and dogs in a fast-paced plant environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety standards using LOTO and confined space entry procedures.
• Load production materials into primary equipment while meeting corporate quality and safety standards.
• Assist with product changeovers on primary equipment.
• Communicate effectively with the team to prevent downtime and quality issues.
• Operate equipment during breaks, lunches, or as needed.
• Comply with Mars Petcare Quality, Food Safety Practices, GMPs, and regulatory standards.
• Document quality attributes and production data for shift reports using a computer or iPad.
• Lift and handle 150-200 forty-pound bags of ingredients per day.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods on hard surfaces.
• Computer/iPad literacy for data entry, recording, and retrieval.

Skills

• Knowledge of production processes, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and food safety/regulatory standards.
• Understanding of equipment start-up, operation, shutdown, and cleaning procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and assist with quality checks.
• Experience documenting results using database collection systems.
• Familiarity with Nexus, MSDS database, Near Miss Reporting, and Adams Bradley Systems (or similar displays).
• Food manufacturing experience preferred.
