Operations Worker

Overview

Selects products from inventory and assembles, packs, and transports to staging areas for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Work in freezer, cooler, and dry warehouse and maintain productivity standards.
• Safely and accurately perform all duties.
• Maintain the appropriate selection pick path, correctly label, and stage product on pallet.
• Load and unload product deliveries as required.
• Record necessary item information into Warehouse Management System (WMS) or applicable inventory system.
• Maintain accurate records of shortages and report them to Supervisor.
• Stack product on pallet with heavier items on bottom and lighter on top to prevent damage.
• Deliver stacked pallets to assigned area on loading dock.
• Secure pallets with shrink wrap for delivery.
• Work effectively with immediate Supervisor to minimize warehouse shrink and general inventory control.
• Report any unfixable/unsafe issues immediately to supervisor.
• Observe and enforce all safety rules.
• Operate appropriate material handling equipment in a safe and orderly manner.
• Ensure that material handling equipment is maintained and clean.
• Ensure warehouse computers and equipment are used in a safe and professional manner.
• Understand and comply with all applicable company policies.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable State/Federal laws, regulations, and policies.
• Cross-train in other warehouse functions and perform other warehouse duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; previous warehouse experience and/or training preferred.
• Material Handling Equipment preferred.
• Reach truck experience preferred.
• Crown and/or Raymond reach truck experience a plus.
• Ability to read, write, speak effectively, add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

• Regularly exposed to fast moving material handling equipment or other mechanical equipment.
• Frequent exposure to freezer/cooler warehouse environments.
• Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; toxic or caustic chemicals; high voltage electrical equipment and vibration.
• Work environment usually is loud.
• Full-time position with varying schedules including shift work (days or nights), weekdays or weekends, and some holidays.
