About the role

At Williams, we're transforming how energy powers the future with exciting data center projects. As a mechanically-focused Operations Technician Lead, you'll be integral to maintaining and enhancing our facility's mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical maintenance and repairs to ensure efficiency and reliability of engines, turbines, compressors, and other equipment.
  • Systematically troubleshoot mechanical failures and collaborate with technicians to resolve issues and restore equipment.
  • Apply technical standards and safety protocols to every aspect of mechanical work, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate shift operations and delegate tasks to maximize team productivity and achieve shared objectives.
  • Drive mechanical aspects of construction, commissioning, and upgrades of facility systems.
  • Maintain thorough mechanical records, logs, and technical reports to monitor system performance and guide improvements.
  • Mentor team members in mechanical best practices and foster a hands-on, safety-driven environment.
  • Support additional mechanical tasks as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as an Operations Technician in the oil and gas industry
  • Valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and leadership skills
  • Effective in a shift-based, field-oriented environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and working knowledge of control systems and PLCs

Preferred

  • Associate or 2-year technical degree
  • Experience in natural gas processing or compression facilities

What You’ll Bring

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Work in extreme temperatures, loud environments, and enclosed spaces
  • Lift up to 50 lbs and team-lift heavier loads
  • Stand, walk, climb, bend, and squat for extended periods
  • Work at elevated levels using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts with appropriate PPE
  • Use hand tools and mechanical diagnostic equipment
  • Available for shift work, on-call rotations, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Occasional travel between Williams locations with overnight stays

Qualifications
