Operations Technician
About the role
KTS is seeking a Technician to perform a mix of electrical, mechanical, and avionics tasks including but not limited to: Build, test, troubleshoot, and repair wire harness assemblies
Build, test and troubleshoot processor assemblies
Build, test, troubleshoot, and repair electronic and hardware systems
Assist in improving and developing new systems, components, and products
Circuit testing, continuity checks, environmental testing, product inspections, soldering
Responsibilities
- Extensive knowledge of, and mechanical aptitude to use common hand tools utilized in electronic and mechanical assembly / repair. To include crimp tools, cable strippers, soldering equipment, digital measuring equipment, multimeters, and basic hand tools
- Ability to read, understand and build to complex drawings, termination tables, and schematics for electrical, mechanical, and cable assemblies
- Ability to layout, inspect, and assemble mechanical components
- Qualify for and maintain certifications in soldering and cable assembly in accordance with J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620
- Troubleshooting skills
- Skilled use of computers and ability to learn new software applications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Requirements
US Citizen with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance
Preferred
- Associates degree or equivalent coursework related to engineering, aviation, quality assurance
- 5+ years’ experience in cable fabrication, avionics, or electrical assembly
- Experience soldering in an electrical production environment
- Certification in J-STD and IPC
- Military / Commercial aviation electrical experience
- A&P license and/or prior aviation Quality Assurance experience
